Tin, Bismuth, and Tin–Bismuth Alloy Electrodeposition from Chlorometalate Salts in Deep Eutectic Solvents
The electrodeposition of tin, bismuth, and tin-bismuth alloys from SnII and BiIII chlorometalate salts in the choline chloride/ethylene glycol (1:2 molar ratio) deep eutectic solvent was studied on glassy carbon and gold by cyclic voltammetry, rotating disc voltammetry, and chronoamperometry. The SnII-containing electrolyte showed one voltammetric redox process corresponding to SnII/Sn0. The di...
متن کاملPreparation of hydrogenated amorphous silicon tin alloys
2014 This paper describes a new method to obtain hydrogenated amorphous semiconductor alloys. The method is reactive co-evaporation. Silicon tin hydrogenated alloys are prepared under atomic hydrogen atmosphere. We discuss the influence of various parameters of preparation (hydrogen pressure, tungsten tube temperature, substrate temperature, annealing...) on electrical properties of samples. Re...
متن کاملA neutral low-coordinate heterocyclic bismuth-tin species.
The reaction of distannadiazane bearing bulky (R)Ar*-groups ((R)Ar* = C6H2{C(H)Ph2}2R-2,6,4; R = iPr, tBu) with ECl3 (E = Sb, Bi) was studied resulting in the isolation of previously unknown N,N-bis(dichloropnictino)amines (3) and a novel heterocyclic carbenoid bismuth species (4) bearing a Bi((III)) and a Sn((IV)) center. The structure and bonding was investigated by means of X-ray structure e...
متن کاملBismuth Telluride and Its Alloys as Materials for Thermoelectric Generation
Bismuth telluride and its alloys are widely used as materials for thermoelectric refrigeration. They are also the best materials for use in thermoelectric generators when the temperature of the heat source is moderate. The dimensionless figure of merit, ZT, usually rises with temperature, as long as there is only one type of charge carrier. Eventually, though, minority carrier conduction become...
متن کاملGiant spin Hall effect induced by skew scattering from bismuth impurities inside thin film CuBi alloys.
We demonstrate that a giant spin Hall effect (SHE) can be induced by introducing a small amount of Bi impurities in Cu. Our analysis, based on a new three-dimensional finite element treatment of spin transport, shows that the sign of the SHE induced by the Bi impurities is negative and its spin Hall (SH) angle amounts to -0.24. Such a negative large SH angle in CuBi alloys can be explained by a...
